RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Course

Become a qualified lifeguard with the RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) course at St Albans Sports Centre, running 30 March – 9 April 2026.

This nationally recognised qualification is perfect for anyone aged 16+ looking to gain lifesaving skills, boost their CV, and open the door to exciting employment opportunities in the leisure industry. You’ll learn vital rescue techniques, CPR, first aid, and how to keep swimmers safe in a real pool environment.

The NPLQ carries UCAS tariff points, making it a great addition to college or university applications.

All candidates must be able to swim 100 meters on front and back, swim 2 lengths in 60 seconds, surface dive 2 meter depth, and be 16+ years on the day.
